• Information about upcoming procurement. Land remediation contract. The chemical engineering factory AB Phylatterion operated from 1889 to 1934 manufacturing various different distillation and other chemical products from coal tar, wood tar, resins, etc. The business was conducted within parts of the area that today consists of the properties Phylatterion 6, 31 and 33. The contamination in the area consists of a creosote-like liquid (creosote oil) which is deemed to originate from AB Phylatterion's operations. Creosote oil also has found in a single point also inside Phylatterion 17, however not in connection with the contiguous source area. The largest amounts of creosote oil are accumulated within an area of ​​approx. 5,000 m2 from the ground surface down to 4-5 m below the ground surface. Local has creosote oil has spread all the way to and even down into the limestone that starts at about 10 m depth. The creosote oil spreads out from the source areas due to the pressure gradient at a rate of on the order of decimeters to a few meters per year. This means that the risk picture increases over time in the environment and that the probability of creosote oil eventually reaching, for example, existing irrigation wells or energy wells increases. The underlying limestone aquifer is very worthy of protection both for Trelleborg and also in a larger regional area perspective.
